Progressive art-pop artist MANX has shared a new single called “JASMINE”. Having recorded her own music since age thirteen, MANX has continued to develop an idiosyncratic style that stands on its own in today’s musical landscape. Aside from musical influences like Aphex Twin, Björk and Oklou, she blends unexpected genres and cultures, with a habit of messing around with both pop cultural framework as well as the expectations of listeners.
Her latest single, “JASMINE”, is a luscious, layered offering that contains mystical production built around hypnotic keys drifting atop glitchy percussion. Atop the energetic instrumental, MANX delivers smooth, memorable verses that showcase her ability to craft sharp melodies and transition between versatile vocal styles.
On “JASMINE”, Maria states, “suddenly I started making fiery dance tracks out of nowhere. I felt the need to inspire both myself and people around me to grow out of something, and be unapologetically alien and radically proud of it.”
“JASMINE” is the latest offering from MANX, and it finds her exploring intriguing territory and bending genres in an engaging, progressive fashion.
