Rising London-based Nigerian-Ghanaian Afrobeats singer-songwriter OG EMMY started his music career in 2016 as he made moves between Nigeria and Ghana. After moving to the UK not too long ago, he was able to land gigs within the African diaspora music space and even opened up for fellow Nigerian singers Goya Menor and Mayorkun respectively. His latest release “Black Girl Magic” is an ode to black women across the globe and sees him teaming up with Ghana-based producer VT Kingsville and singer Naze.
“Black Girl Magic” is the follow-up single to OG EMMY‘s last EP entitled Desire and continues his knack for dropping slow-burn summer bangers like last year’s “Gbese” The production has a hypnotic texture made up of dreamy pads, sublime strings, guitar riffs and an undeniable West African groove that blends effortlessly with OG EMMY‘s distinct melodic drawl. He pours more than a handful of adulations on black women, detailing their resilience and natural beauty while also assuring them that he is willing to do what it takes to make them happy. Naze also comes through with some slick melodic flows and adds his own praises on black women around the world.
