Brooklyn indie-pop duo Overcoats’ upcoming EP Used To Be Scared Of The Dark, is a 4-track project featuring lots of collabs. Today, Overcoats share a new single and music video for “Blame It On Me” featuring Los Angeles artist Lawrence Rothman.
“Blame It On Me” is a potent piano ballad filled with desire and longing. Hana and JJ’s sweet, angelic harmonies next to Rothman’s deep vocals will sweep over you like waves. It’s all emphasized by a layer of dark synths, bringing out the power.
The accompanying music video is a part two of their first single “The Hardest Part.” With a couple locked in a slow-motion in the middle of a rave, it feels like a scene from West Side Story, depicting that feeling of being the only two people in the world.
