“Shutter” marks a notable change in Manchester band Plato‘s sonic direction, primarily through heavier use of sampling, synthesizers and electronic drums, shifting from Alt-Rock to sublime new territory via Someone Great Records.
Influences of Electronica creep into the piano-driven track, with an array of beats and riffs adding a warm texture to this groove-worthy offering. The paradoxical track shifts seamlessly from the uplifting and melancholic to the sultry and angsty, seeing Plato approach their artistry from two juxtaposing angles.
The Manchester-based three-piece say they embrace contradiction in their lyric writing, and their sonic craft amplifies this, with unexpected rhythms coming out of nowhere and taking a hold.
Taken from the band’s upcoming debut EP, “Shutter” proves that Plato have hit upon something entirely unique and quite simply- irresistible.
