R E L examines how we change—or don't—in “Stumbling”

It is human nature to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. So many of us want to change, but stay stagnant, not investing the time into self-growth and development. R E L explores this idea in her latest single “Stumbling”. The alternative pop artist’s intoxicating tune shines with gleaming synths and warm, passionate vocals. She sings, “why are we so good at dodging every feeling/why are we so good at finding any reason/not to be so good.” Many of us feel so set in our ways that we find excuses not to alter our behavior.

Chicago born/LA-based experimental talent coined EVOCA-POP. That term comes from “evocative and pop”. She hopes that listeners can connect so deeply to her music, evoking an emotional response. This new offering is seeped in that intense feeling she is known for. The singer reveals, “There’s this inclination to self-destruct, or to run away (to escape), and even the wanderlust that can be so expansive and an opportunity for growth, isn’t so if we aren’t doing the inner work…without it we keep making the same mistakes over again. I guess it’s also a wake up call if you want to hear it that way; we’re so good at stumbling, at tripping ourselves.”
