Taz Conley – “Self” (feat. Shyloom)

Taz Conley returns with his slew of visual releases with a new entry titled “Self”. The guitar-laden track sees him teaming with Shyloom for a solid collaboration. Here, the rapper delivers a blend of insightful and reflective performance ripe with candid lyricism. The visual is a blend of spliced shots of the rapper in different spots in his stomping grounds.

RobYoung – “Life is 20/20”

RobYoung‘s latest single “Life is 20/20” is a thought-provoking and edgy piece that looks at the never-ending cycle of trauma young black men face as they try to find their footing in a white man’s world. The production is sparse, dark and haunting while RobYoung’s commanding vocals take precedence alongside his unapologetic run down of the racist history of America and how it still lords itself over minorities. From systematic racism, police brutality, subtle repression and violence, RobYoung tackles many delicate issues that plague the black community. The visual style is powerful as well and uses engaging close-ups and wide shots to drive home the poignant message being conveyed.

Lunar June – “l-o-v-e”

Electro-pop singer, songwriter and visual artist Lunar June shares with us the visualizer for her lead single “l-o-v-e”. The song is lifted from her sophomore EP an ode to the girl i once was and it’s an anthem to self-discovery after a terrible heartbreak. The soundscape is playful, bright and has a retro-pop vibe while her use of vocal tuning adds a futuristic feel to her melodies as well. The visualizer is a blend of different clips that captures Lunar in her element and it flows like a loop.

Kel-P – “In My Feelings” ft. Kalash

Nigerian Afrobeats star Kel-P continues his string of releases with the visuals for his new single “In My Feelings” featuring French rapper Kalash. The sublime production is rich and bouncy while his expressive vocal runs take precedence and Kalash comes through with his distinct melodic flow.  The sensual and edgy music video finds both star boys lost in seduction. The track is from the upcoming, second volume of Kel-P’s Bully Season EP series.

Later. – “Cold Touch”

French band Later is made up of friends Charles, Paul, Noah and Theo who met via their mutual love for music and they haven’t looked back since. Their newest effort “Cold Touch” is a superb blend of retro-pop, and contemporary music with a unique touch. The song is peppered with reflective elements and heartfelt lyrics that deal with emotional pain and hurt. The accompanying visual was shot in the legendary nightclub Les Bains in ‘Le Marais’ district of Paris and also uses simple performance shots with moody and blue hues to allude to the coldness one feels when love is so close but yet far.

Cece Vee – “Sucker”

South African alt-pop artist Cece Vee delivers her new single  “Sucker“, a rousing and punchy track that explores one’s inclination to fall for the wrong person. Over the dynamic and edgy soundscape made up of rich guitar licks, moody textures and pounding drums, Cece Vee pours her heart on wax and reflects on her past toxic lovers. Cece explains. “The danger is exciting and you fall for her tricks, like magic. You keep getting drawn to her for some reason, and the cycle never ends. You only learn when it’s too late.”

Dirty Needles -” If I Could Afford A 9th Wonder Beat” prod. by Reese Tanaka

Ohio rapper Dirty Needles delivers fiery raps in his new effort titled ” If I Could Afford A 9th Wonder Beat” produced by his longtime collaborator Reese Tanaka. The production is a nod to legendary producer 9th Wonder and is punchy and soulful at the same time while Dirty Needles proceeds to drop verbal bombs on unsuspecting opponents who try to get in his way. The ChemVision-directed video was shot on one of the coldest days in Ohio history, guerrilla-style on an iPhone 15 Pro. Taken from Dirty’s critically acclaimed album Happy Accidents out now for purchase on Bandcamp and all other digital platforms.

Lord Willin – “100” prod. by Kubus Muzyka

Lord Willin kicks off 2024 with “100”, which is produced by Kubus Muzyka. The result is a dark and hard-hitting track that is underpinned by the rappers’ sharp lyricism and commanding cadence. The accompanying video directed by Tony Bizz is a blend of live-action and animation. The song is the lead single from Lord Willin’s second installment of his “Feed The Dog” compilation series which is available now on all platforms!

SYML – “The Walker”

Seattle-based singer, songwriter, and producer SYML shares his new single, “The Walker.” The moving ballad is a heartfelt and profound look into self-discovery and self-belief in the face of adversity and it was crafted and produced alongside longtime collaborator Brian Eichelberger, with musical additions from James McAlister (Sufjan Stevens, The National, Gracie Abrams) and the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. Over the cinematic production, SYML pours out an emotive performance that hits the soul. The visualizer captures SYML in his element. No glitz, no flashing lights, just a talented singer/songwriter giving the world a stunning performance.

Zafty – “John Doe”

Perth, Western Australia-based, Nigeria-born rapper Zafty delivers the visuals for his new song “John Doe”. The track is his first release for 2024 and sees him flexing his verbal biceps on his detractors and reflecting on his own journey as a young rising artist. The visual makes use of subtle motifs and a lot of performance shots that follow the young rapper around different spots in his hometown.

QU/NTEN – “Michelin Star”

Uprising Old Southbay California-based rapper/songwriter QU/NTEN shares with us the visuals for his song “Michelin Star” featuring Jayson Cash. Armed with his smooth and somewhat nonchalant flow, QU/NTEN flows over the mid-tempo backdrop laid before him while Jayson comes through on the last verse to close things out. The accompanying video directed by CSPR uses a blend of retro effects with performance shots of the duo.

N8! – Destroy & Rebuild”

N8! and The Deity Complex deliver the visuals for “Destroy & Rebuild” which serves as the second single from the duo’s new album Supreme Mathematics. The video was made in collaboration with The Dor Brothers who specialize in cutting edge AI video animation. The result is an eye-popping and engaging visual that focuses on N8!’s metaphysical and spiritual-inclined lyricism.
