London based singer -songwriter, Sophie Kilburn, has announced her next single “Hating on a Heartache,” which is out on the 27th July. The single demonstrates Sophie Kilburn’s honest and relatable narratives, which have been resonating amongst listeners since her debut in 2019. Released by Luna Sky Recordings, “Hating on a Heartache” is a powerful and empowering pop song that is to set out a clear path. The single is the first and forthcoming release from her upcoming EP, Not Bitter Just Bored.
Throughout “Hating on Heartache,” Sophie’s honest lyrics show pain, vulnerability and a journey of self-protection. Sophie writes, “Hating on a Heartache is that early hours fight with your boyfriend, girlfriend or whoever where it ends with one of you storming out, slamming the door and the other left thinking, shit, I’ve gone too far,” explains Sophie. “It is about carrying the hurt and hate from a past heartache into a new relationship, fearing to love again due to fear of being hurt again. It doesn’t matter what that heartache stems from, but the only way to start moving on is to open up about it and that is on me”.
Brushing upon indie-alternative pop, Hating on a Heartache boasts luscious rhythms, charismatic harmonies alongside a dramatic electronic bass which plays throughout. Catch Sophie Kilburn live at her EP launch show at The Grace, London on Thursday 27th October. Tickets here.
