Harlem, New York artist Trips SOG has shared a fresh new visual for his song “I can see it.” Having released a catalog of music as part of the SquareOff collective, Trips’ talents have led him on tour with the likes of Meek Mill and Machine Gun Kelly, and collaborate with Teyana Taylor, Corey Gunz, and A$AP Rocky. Fresh off the heels of his new LP REWARDS, Trips now shares a video for album standout “I can see it”, which puts a refreshing twist on a classic New York sound and style.
“I can see it” contains glowing, uplifting production reminiscent of traditional soul-sampled East Coast hip-hop but with a modern twist. As heavy 808s and crisp percussion create a driving, infectious rhythm section, crystalline vocal samples drift above, creating an emotive backdrop for Trips’ engaging flow. He weaves together vividly descriptive, heartfelt bars that are character-rich in style and tone. The accompanying video keeps it relatively simple but does an effective job of capturing the song’s honesty and stripped-back approach, also featuring a commanding performance from Trips.
The latest from Harlem’s Trips SOG, “I can see it” appears on his new album REWARDS, available now everywhere.
