Ava Vegas & French Horn Rebellion return with an ethereal new indie-americana anthem “Saddest Disco Girl”

Returning with a new take on her vintage sound “Saddest Disco Girl” by Ava Vegas – with production by French Horn Rebellion, seamlessly merges danceable beats with a touching storyline, making heartache feel both vibrant and deeply touching. The soundscape crafted by French Horn Rebellion, known for their collaborations with artists like Blu DeTiger and Sofi Tukker, offers a rich, immersive experience full of indie-groove, and an americana twist.

Ava Vegas’ ethereal, softly-spoken vocals convey a story of love and longing with a haunting beauty. The track’s summery indie-pop sound is interwoven with gentle folk influences, while atmospheric, almost ghostly elements add a layer of melancholy, perfectly capturing the emotional duality of the song. The contrast between the buoyant instrumentation and introspective lyrics creates a compelling tension, making “Saddest Disco Girl” a memorable and multifaceted listen.

Ava explains ““I’d never admit this to myself or anyone else–but I’ve probably been to many parties secretly hoping to see a certain someone there. It just makes life a little bit more exciting to sprinkle some romantic fantasy and playful drama into it, and we ran with that idea to an extreme in “Saddest Disco Girl.” Robert (French Horn Rebellion) and I were laughing a lot when writing this warm, poppy, dancey song and the lyrics just poured out of me. I wrote them with a wink, but also caught myself revealing a little bit more about myself than I would like to. “ – Ava Vegas
