Following dreamy single “Lost Soul” earlier this year, Orlando via San Diego trio CRUZA return with their second single of 2021 “Indeed”. It marks their first signing to Juicebox Recordings / Terrible Records.
For their latest single “Indeed”, romantic themes take centre stage. Boasting lo-fi R&B flavours, “Indeed” blends hazy strings and mellow, soul-drenched vocals perfect for those hot months ahead, cruising with the sun-kissed breeze or basking in the heat on a lazy summer’s afternoon. Also set to feature on their upcoming EP later this year, CRUZA are destined to captivate through their honest story telling. They draw on stress, depression, trauma, and uncertainty based on their own young adult experiences during the often challenging transition from adolescence to their more mature years.
The trio explain, “From a lyrical standpoint, the song is essentially about being in that tough spot of feeling infatuated with someone who may not feel the same way about you. Instead of taking the risk of expressing your feelings and potentially facing rejection, you end up keeping your feelings inside and dealing with the torment of never truly knowing if they feel the same way about you.”
Consisting of three members, Adam Kain (vocals), Charity Joy Brown (guitar), and AJ Roth (bass and percussion), CRUZA are a band that are rapidly garnering attention with their fresh mixture of R&B, psychedelic and alternative rock that make for a mesmerising combination. Initially propelled to the forefront last year, they follow in the footsteps of their influences like Tame Impala, King Krule, Blood Orange and more as a band firmly on the rise.
CRUZA “Indeed” is out now via Juicebox Recordings / Terrible Records.
