Frenchii 2x keeps his message direct on the aggressive “Bones” [Video]

Chicago has one of the best local scenes in hip-hop largely due to its ability to reinvent itself. Though originally from Los Angeles, rising rapper Frenchii 2x has been living in Chicago practically his whole life. Due to this, he’s been privy to seeing the rise of Chicago greats from different eras all the way from Kanye West and Common, to the recent ascensions of artists like Polo G and the late Juice WRLD, allowing for him to gather in a lot of information on how he’d like forge his path. After spending the last few years amassing his fanbase, it’s obvious he picked up a few tricks, and he checks into our pages for the first time to showcase them with his engaging new single, “Bones.”

Directed by Ryder Visuals, the video finds Frenchii in a creatively decorated building that looks like it was previously abandoned. One of the immediately intriguing qualities about the video is how well the confrontational shots of the Chicago native fit into the landscape of the music. The thumping production from Silk Bezzle pair brilliantly with the close up shots of Frenchii toting his weapons and menacingly staring into the camera. While the visual holds well, the catalyst of this package is Frenchii’s sheer ability as a rapper. Switching through obscure flows at the drop of a hat while providing clever lyricism, the rising rapper proves that he has the creative chops to carry the Chicago flag.
