The Brighton native’s new release continues her momentum with spine tingling vocals that place her firmly on the map. Teaming up with Coops, the artists make for a stand out pair. With IYAMAH’s sweet harmonies and Coops’ lyrical flow backed by mellow instrumentals, “More” is the perfect recipe for a soothing r&b cut, with a sprinkle of neo-soul, hip-hop and jazz for good measure.
Describing a particular kind of love “sweet like strawberry laces”, in her own words IYAMAH explains, “‘More’ is a glimpse into that kind of love that we all fantasise over. Often the most addictive type of love is the most toxic and unhealthy kind. We’ve all been there, but is it really love that we want? Or is it more of a distraction… or an escape from our own reality?”
It’s IYAMAH’s heavenly and resonating vocals that have the ability to connect on a deeper level that has seen her hyped by key industry players in recent months, with her debut project Truth EP. 1 receiving support from Jamz Supernova on BBC 1 Xtra and Phil Taggart on BBC Radio 1. Riding similar waves of success, Coops has forged his own unique path into the word of rap and hip-hop, sparking conversation in the industry with his thought provoking project Crimes Against Creation questioning the state of hip hop, politics and the world in general.
