Prolific singer0songwriter James Vickery is back with something new and refreshing in the form of the single “The Reason”. The song is the follow-up to his acclaimed Songs That Made Me Feel last year, a record that saw him crowned the rightly deserved moniker of the ‘male face of the UK’s R&B scene. The new single continues James’ distinct blend of neo-soul/R&B with a tinge of ’90s stripped production. Over Fred Cox‘s mellow, low tone texture, sparse percussions and rich guitar pluck, the singer shares the attributes that draw him to his woman and pours his heart on wax with no restraints. Armed with his unique vocal tone and stylish melodic inflections that go from tenor to baritone at will, James delivers an emotion-filled performance with heartfelt lyrics that lovers of the genre will surely relate to.
James Vickery’s debut album Songs That Made Me Feel features the Maths Time Joy-produced single “Somewhere, Out There”, the Musiq Soulchild collaboration “Come To Me”, and the vibrant “You Comfort Me” ft. EARTHGANG, and SG Lewis-produced gem “Finally”.
Having headlined London’s Lafayette last year and supported Sinead Harnett on her recent UK tour, James Vickery will also be supporting Sabrina Claudio on her UK and European tour dates later this Autumn.
