Kaleia’s “Better” is about renewed strength

Edmonton-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Kaleia‘s newest release “Better” is a mellow and reflective tune that explores the aftermath of a bad breakup and the process of regaining her true self as she wades through the fire like a proverbial Phoenix. Bolstered by Ethan Johnson‘s surreal and gloomy pads, crisp keys and punchy downtempo drums, Kaleai confronts her former lover with defiance as she sings

The only thing reliable is you’re unreliable
You always keep me on my toes
The only thing forgivable is you’re so damn forgettable
Must be hard to see me now

She then reaches a crescendo on the hook section with an irreverent fervour reminding her ex of what they missed.
