Lauran Hibberd drops her new hard-hitting single “How Am I Still Alive”. A collaboration with one of her best friends Lydia Night from The Regrettes, the indie-rock banger packs a big punch. ThroughHibberd’s fierce vocals and driving guitars, you feel the tune’s raw intensity.
The intoxicating track perfectly highlights life’s melancholy monotony in a unique and entertaining way. She vehemently sings, “I’m getting really good at talking to myself. Kinda noticed you were fucking someone else. I’m wanting more and more to fade into the back. Until I’m staring at my Michael what a drag.” The release centers on Arrested Development and Superbad actor Michael Cera. The song narrates how thinking about him gets her through the day, but she knows if she actually had him she probably wouldn’t even want him anyway.
The UK talent is taking the indie scene by storm with her distinct brand of “slacker-pop”.“How Am I Still Alive” is produced by Suzy Shinnand mixed by Rob Kinelski (Billie Eilish, King Princess, FINNEAS) and possesses that effortless laid-back style she is known for. Hibberd toured with The Regrettes in 2019 and teaming up with Night for the offering could not be a more perfect pairing.
