Unveiling the Soulful Resurgence of Slow Hollows with “Idle Hands” From Forthcoming LP

Slow Hollows, the brainchild of Los Angeles-based artist Austin Feinstein, has reemerged with a powerful statement in the form of their lead single, “Idle Hands,” from the upcoming album Bullhead, set to release on March 8th, 2024, through Danger Collective.

Originally conceived for the 2016 album Romantic, “Idle Hands” remained dormant, hidden away in the shadows of creative evolution. However, the passage of time and the twists of artistic inspiration have brought it back into the limelight. Feinstein, the creative force behind Slow Hollows, shares the genesis of the song, saying, “For some reason I kept thinking of this song and playing it when I was in the writing process for this new record. I figured it might be nice to muster up a proper recording. I ended up rewriting the lyrics, and it feels like a thematic centerpiece for the album. It’s about being stuck.”

“Idle Hands” emerges as a testament to the resilience and evolution of Slow Hollows’ resonance. The revival of this hidden gem showcases Feinstein’s commitment to authenticity and their ability to breathe new life into past creations. The song’s thematic weight, paired with Feinstein’s emotive vocals and the intricate arrangement of fusing distorted guitars, piano, and a pulsating beat, provides listeners a glimpse into the sonic tapestry that awaits them on the forthcoming album. “Idle Hands” serves not only as an introduction to Slow Hollows’ latest chapter but also as a thematic anchor, embodying the essence of being caught in the inertia of life.

Bullhead marks Slow Hollows first new album since 2019’s Actors, following the band’s dissolution in 2020. The upcoming arrival of Bullhead feels destined to reaffirm Slow Hollows’ position as sonic architects unafraid of exploring new depths as they continue to embark on this artistic rebirth.
