Worry Club share warm new single “Knocking on Wood”

Chicago-based act Worry Club have returned with a new single called “Knocking on Wood.” Following up their well-received recent EP ur not real that found them exploring a diverse array of genres including indie, alt-pop, and hyperpop, “Knocking on Wood” was re-created and re-recorded after an impromptu jam session at a show showed to be a hit among fans. The single provides a warm, evocative sound that is refreshingly easygoing, crafted with minimal ego.

“Knocking on Wood” keeps the pace light and unhurried with hazy, immersive guitars drifting beneath infectious, heartfelt vocals. As a rich, addictive bass groove drops in beneath, the song begins to build with layers of distorted guitars and expansive effects. Towards the latter half of the song, an organic-sounding drum line is added as the song’s vocals culminate in an emotive crescendo.

The latest from Chicago’s Worry Club, “Knocking on Wood” provides a bittersweet, calmly reflective sound suitable for the coming autumn months.
