“Dare Myself” is the latest single from NYC dance music vocalist Amy Douglas, a rising trailblazing artist pushing the envelope in the exciting genre.
The track sees her allying with London-based duo Saison who gift her with a vibrant and upbeat beat that is as anthemic as they come. Armed with her powerful vocal tone and knack for penning uplifting tunes, Douglas delivers the perfect dance love anthem that reassures listeners that true love exists and we just have to look within to manifest it.
Over the punchy bass-driven beat, triumphant stabs, and alluring textures, Douglas takes audiences through the journey to self-awareness and discovery of the true meaning of love.
Douglas adds that the inspiration for the track came from luminaries like Evelyn Champagne King and Kashif, and she aimed to pen a modern version of “I’m In Love” with her unique nu-disco-influenced twist.
Amy Douglas came into the spotlight with her breakout single “Never Saw It Coming,” with DFA and proceeded to pen “Something More” for Roisin Murphy, releasing collaborations with Juan MacLean, Treasure Fingers, The Crooked Man, 33Hz’s Tim Wagner. “Dare Myself” is the follow-up to her successful single “Freak At Night” released on NYC’s Razor and Tape label.
