New York-based singer, songwriter and producer Anna Thoresen is originally from New Jersey. She fell in love with music at a young age and started performing by 10 in different musical theatre shows through to high school where she joined the choir. Her first ever single was recorded during the height of the pandemic while she was in college and that kicked off her career. The pop/R&B singer is now back with her sophomore single “Party Girl’s Lament”, a solemn and heartfelt record that explores vulnerability, addiction and anxiety. Written and produced by Anna, with additional guitar arrangements by Matthew Holdren (Matt & Hope), the song sees Anna detailing an experience through a night of partying hard and imbibing while digging deep into her most intimate and personal thoughts. The lyrics are vivid and evocative while Anna’s pained melodic runs cut through the mix and hit the ears with such vigour.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Party Girl’s Lament’, Anna Thoresen says, “It comes from a very vulnerable, personal place that I don’t speak about often, but screams through my music.
