North Carolina has a rich history in hip-hop. Sparking the careers of legends like Phonte and 9th Wonder, we’ve also seen recent times spew out rising icons like J. Cole, as well as mainstays like DaBaby and YBN Cordae. Looking to solidify his place in the rankings, Fayetteville artist Dasango checks into our pages for the first time with his enjoyable new video for, “Lifted.”
Produced by 1400 Franko, “Lifted,” is a fun, engaging record that finds Dasango speaking to a special woman. Showcasing his knack for melodic direction, he utilizes the auto-tune to croon to her, making his case for her to leave her man. Buoyed by an infectious hook and quirky lyrics like, “I know you feeling me, I heard it through the wire. Your bestie told me and I know she not a liar,” Dasango creates a fun and upbeat record that is perfectly crafted to get you to sing along.
Directed by Drew Heart Productions, the video also adds another element of entertainment to this record. Following Dasango and some friends at the skate park, he brings his courtship to life, as we see the woman’s boyfriend prove he’s a scrub while Dasango rules the skatepark.
At more than 90 thousand views and counting, it’s going to be sooner than later that Dasango finds his footing. Get familiar with him before the bandwagon fills up.
