Evenson battles anxiety in new single “LUNGS”

Haitian-American singer/ songwriter Evenson shares a deeply candid, personal and raw new single. Entitled “LUNGS”, the track follows “Devil Inside” shared earlier this year.

With “LUNGS”, the Connecticut native chronicles his experience with anxiety and most specifically the first panic attack he experienced after the loss of his grandmother. With lyrics including, “cause sometimes I wish I wasn’t born / But that’s alright, that’s ok / These feelings come and go / So I surrender,” Evenson realizes that despite the hardships and worry he feels, he will be ok in the end and the dark feelings will subside. Sonically, “LUNGS” features colorful keys, intimate layered deep vocal tones and cinematic synths for a reflective and enticing listen. Evenson’s ability to seamlessly fuse bedroom pop with electronic and alt R&B, make him an exciting artist to watch.

Evenson began releasing music in 2019 and his 2020 funk-fuelled reflection on racial injustices “HOW CAN I SLEEP” quickly reached over a million streams. Influenced by the likes of ABBA and David Bowie, Evenson’s own music captures a wide variety of influences. His heart-on-your-sleeve relatable narratives are packaged in indie pop bangers, attracting listeners from around the globe. Take a listen to “LUNGS” now and remember anxiety often can come and go.
