Los Angeles based indie pop artist Charli just released her heartfelt new single “Little Love.” The artist, originally from Paris where she studied both music and theatre, is known for her authentic songs based on the deep struggles and compelling experiences she has faced in an aim to bring catharsis and hope to others.
In “Little Love”, the song is described as a “confessional diary” that details an all time low in Charli’s life where she felt lost, unsupported, and alone. The song is written in a simplistic fashion, where her listeners can feel the honesty and vulnerability in her vocals, which are highlighted in the forefront of the track. Soft, organic and raw, the song is both heartbreaking and relatable, with just the right amount of human touch. Charli confides,” I wrote it when I really thought that nobody loved me, and that feeling was deep — it was like I was screaming with my last breath that I was here and that I needed help…remember to trust yourself, and let people love and help you. There is light at the end of the tunnel.” Sometimes the softest sounds can deliver the most powerful messages, and that’s just what Charli does in “Little Love.”
Heavily inspired by the 60s and the 80s, Charli draws influence from these decades while putting her own unique and special twist on her sound. Taking influence from Anastacia, Alicia Keys, Nina Simone, and Destiny’s Child to name a few, her sound is soulful with a clever mix of pop sensibility. “Little Love” is from her award winning film The Time Left.
