Boston, MA Rapper M-Dot takes us to class for some much-needed lessons in his latest video for the single “Done” which sees him teaming up with famed Detroit producer Apollo Brown. Bolstered by the menacing and thumping backdrop made up of dark organ riffs, smooth bass-driven grooves and vocal samples, M-Dot gives us a masterclass that covers the current affairs in hip-hop landscape. From instant validation, lack of artistic integrity and the temptation of quick success, M-Dot shares his unapologetic thoughts on these matters and closes it up with the following lines “It’s almost as if fakin’s the new “in crowd”//Rappers ad-lib in the booth, don’t need a pen now//”.
The accompanying video, directed by Johnny Cashless (shot in Linz, Austria) features M-Dot mentoring a young pupil in an after-school detention scenario. “Done” is the 6th video from M-Dot’s acclaimed album “Ego and the Enemy 2: A Dissolute Paradise“ out now on all platforms.
