The Slice, Episode 56 [Urban Feature]

We open up this week’s edition with the boisterous sounds from The Princess Superstar who takes us deep into the unpredictable wilderness on her song “2020.” New Jersey producer C.G. teams up with underground rap royalty on his raw new single, “Angels,” featuring Guilty Simpson and Rockness Monsta. The beatsmith sets the tone with a creeping instrumental that provides the perfect canvas for two of the most distinct voices in the genre. Chi-town’s jazz maestro Andrew Vogt takes us into his own reality on the sci-fi inspired jazz with his single “Hammerspace.” After a 13 year break, the Queensbridge trio Infamous Mobb returns with the introspective “Like a Dream” – the first single off their upcoming new album, IM3. Nyah Grace channels her loneliness into beautiful music on her new single “I Just Wish You’d Call Me.” Holow and Eliza Roe thrill us with a smooth mix of soul and deep house on “Counterfeit” while British act Tim Ajayi battles his inner demons on the solemn “Everythingg.” Berlin-based producer Ben Esser teams up with vocalist Jessy Rose on the heartwarming single “Daily” that captures his inner longing for something more fulfilling.
