We’re incredibly glad to be premiering the new video Alanna Royale’s music video for “Forget Me,”
A standout track from her album Trouble Is, is a visual treat that perfectly encapsulates the song’s poignant message. Released today and directed by Anshunee Madison, the video transports viewers through a nostalgic journey in an unnamed town, featuring vibrant scenes in shops, cafes, and vintage stores. The video’s editing, creates a vintage atmosphere that complements the song’s reflective nature. This contrasts sharply with Royale’s previous video for “Trouble Is,” where she embraced a more glamorous aesthetic. In “Forget Me,” we see a more intimate side of Royale, wandering through everyday settings, evoking a sense of personal and artistic vulnerability.
Royale explains that “Forget Me” was written during the first year of the pandemic, inspired by the final line of the movie “Judy.” Alanna Royale’s ability to blend classic 70s Soul and 90s R&B with deeply personal themes is evident in both the music and the visuals of “Forget Me.” This video is a testament to her versatility and a further step in securing her place in the contemporary R&B and soul scene.
“Written in the first year of the pandemic, this song faces the reality of being a small independent artist in a world shut down and locked away. Inspired by the final line in the movie “Judy”, I was lamenting what my lasting impression would be on the world if this was the end of my artistic journey.”
